Every Day, by David Levithan, is a young adult romance about a character named A. A has travelled to and from other people's bodies since he was born. He has no control over this and can only stay for a day. When 'A' wakes up one day in the body of a teenage boy named Justin, they go to school as normal. When they get to school, A meets Justin's girlfriend, Rhiannon. A hopelessly falls in love with Rhiannon and is willing to do anything to be close to her, even though every day, they're someone new. I thought the plot was brilliant. Levithan describes the emotions and thoughts of the character so well, and you could almost believe you were there, alongside A, in the body he inhabited. The story introduced us to different lives, which was clever and interesting because the book was able to show a plethora of experiences and how all the lives seemed different, yet, they are the same at the same time. I loved this book. It was gripping, emotional, sad, terrifying, romantic, strange, and beautiful all at the same time. The only problem was that it had quite an abrupt, cliff-hanger ending; the ending took me by surprise as I found myself turning the last page, only to show the acknowledgments. I so wanted the book to carry on! I would recommend this book - anyone could read it. I assure you it is one of the best books I have ever read. I would rate this book a 4.5/5. @CreativityReader of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board Every day is a story about A, a person who lives life in some else’s body every day. Everything goes fine until A meets Rhiannon, who they fall in love with. From there on, A did nearly everything they could to be close to Rhiannon. I found it to be a touching story with an ending that left me wanting more. The idea of the story is creative. I was intrigued to learn how A worked with the bodies they used. However, I thought that the romance was a little cheesy at times. I enjoyed how the writer described the characters A inhabited. This is a book I’d recommend to my friends. 4/5 stars. @endoplasmicreticulum of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board I’m a big fan of young adult romance, but I felt that a lot of its novels were becoming repetitive and predictable ( **cough Kasie West.**.) So it was really refreshing to finally read a book like this. A book that left you a complete mess, with tears running down your face and a box of Kleenex clutched to your chest. A book that you stayed up past midnight to finish. A book that you actually enjoyed. I could write a five-page essay on everything that I loved about Every Day. I definitely recommend this book to anyone in need of a good cry. @Vaseline of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
