I loved this book. Such an awesome series! Great for all ages, but particularly for kids 9 to 13.

THIS BOOK IS AWESOME! Awesome for any girls, any where. And, there's 2 more in the series to enjoy if you've finished this one!

This is a fun spy series- some fighting, exploring, and suspense. It has humor and interesting characters.

The story line is different from most YA novels, but in a way that just makes the story better. If you enjoy adventure, I suggest you read it. :D

Fantastic book. If you loved Harry Potter, but were more attracted to Hermoine's cleverness and the strong friendship amongst the characters than the magic and fantasy aspects, I strongly recommend it. These girls are super smart and brave, and yet, certainly not flawless. Bonus: it's all set in NYC. I will never walk the streets of Chinatown again without looking for the Irregulars' special mark designating entrances to the Shadow City. I couldn't put this book down and stayed up most of the night reading. I was only sad to learn there is only 1 more in the series right now (3rd expected to come out in 2012), so I'm pacing myself before I checkout the 2nd book. I need a free weekend because I know that once I start reading, I won't be able to stop.

"Inside the Shadow City" has a very creative plot. The book is written very clearly, but contains lots of information. It is important to process the information properly otherwise you can forget what's going on. Miller knows what she is doing.
