Another riotous journey through the mind of one of America's premiere comic observers. Ranging from his absurdist side to his unerring ear for American speech to his unsparing views on America and its values, Carlin's legendary irreverence and iconoclasm are on full display as he vainly scours the American landscape for signs of intelligence.

For a George Carlin comedy book, this was not very funny. More of an observation of life, with some silliness thrown in. I was disappointed with it.

Watch YouTube clips and skip this. Sometimes feels like it's simply a diary dump with no editing whatsoever. Not all of Carlin's musings are amusing, and you may actually walk away disappointed at some of his most mean and disparaging comments, at least I did.

The book is worth reading, if only for a few very funny and 'right to the point' parts: A Modern Man; most of the Euphemisms, especially Food Lingo; The Two Commandments; Guys & Dolls; Cars as Personal Billboards; and some of the Bits and Pieces. That's approximately 50 pages out of 295 page book. Skip the rest, unless you love the 'toilet humor' and/or pointless musings.
