Although my SF library didnt have it and I had to recieve it from "Linked in" program, this book has been VERY helpful.
Because I was given the opportunity to read and research through the pages, I have decided to purchase it for myself as a X-mas gift. :)
The illustrations are fantastic, it has (what seemed to me) a full history on ships themselves from the primitive to the golden age then through to the subs and steal hulls.
For someone who has to write about ships (like myself) this book is like the Ship "Bible" they touch on everything. I encourage everyone who has a fascination with ships, or even just fans of Pirates of the Caribbean to read what was really expected in building those beautiful crafts, and to be astounded at how much the movie people got right. ;)

A most beautifully illustrated book. Pictures of models of boats, photographs of replicas of gallions, and ships of today and yesterday on each page.
