Sponge Out of Water is an intelligently designed film with great voice acting, engaging plot and absolutely gorgeous animation. As usual, Plankton attempts to capture the Krabby Patty formula for himself, but this time, the formula disappears into thin air. Due to their being no Krabby Patties left, Bikini Bottom is left without the only thing that keeps their social structure intact. In order to save Bikini Bottom, Spongebob and his friends must venture out onto to the surface in order to find the missing formula. The film combines both traditional 2D animation with CGI and live action scenes, which still look and move accordingly to a traditional Spongebob animation. There are also different sub plots within the main plot of finding the missing formula. However, perhaps the most intriguing storyline within the film besides the investigation for the formula, is the friendship between Spongebob and Plankton. While Plankton is just as evil and cruel as expected at the beginning of the film, Spongebob makes a valiant effort to teach Plankton the benefits of teamwork. The film's musical score is impressive as well, with songs sung by Spongebob to Plankton, a variation of the iconic Spongebob Squarepants theme song, and a catchy tune during some more time boggling moments in the film. The ending is surprising and an interesting plot twist that truly showcases the development of a character from the beginning to the end of the film. Of course, no spoilers. As expected from a Spongebob animation, the film is filled to the brim with humorous moments and scenes. However, the film still finds space for more dramatic and sensational moments that really showcase the wonderful animation. Overall, Sponge Out of Water is a well crafted film that truly feels like a sequel to the 2004 Spongebob movie. It combines humor, drama, and gloom and is bound to keep you laughing and crying throughout the film. On top of that, it's a far cry from the episodic television show, and exceeds it in both animation and plot. It's a splendid movie that both children and adults alike can enjoy.

I'm glad i'm number 1 for this movie. I've been number 1 for 3 weeks already and now for the first day today. I see that there are 10 holds now, but I don't have to worry because I am number 1. I do see a music video everyday of SpongeBob called "Squeeze Me" by N.E.R.D. and my little brother went to the movie theatre to watch The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water and in the store in the mall called Toy Tales in Cambridge I saw that there was collection of SpongeBob books based on this movie.
