A young adult book, is extremely well written. It gives a good synopsis of Florence Nightingale's life. (Mother of modern day nursing). Born into a wealthy family she fought her family to be allowed to do the thing that moved her heart and soul: improve conditions for the sick and to learn the art of nursing. In her long life she accomplished much, saving lives especially during the Crimean War, by her insistence on cleanliness, suitable food for invalids, and good nursing care. An amazing nurse and administrator and an excellent story.
