The CIA recruits a talk-show host (James Franco) and his producer (Seth Rogen) to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in this comedy from writer/director duo Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This Is the End). Franco plays Dave Skylark, a vapid talk-show host known for chasing celebrity gossip, while Rogen is his producer Aaron Rapaport, who's desperate to do more serious journalism. When Dave discovers that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un (played here by Randall Park) is a big fan of his show, the pair decide to arrange an interview with him in order to boost their credibility. And the CIA, in turn, decide to use these two and the access they'll have to assassinate Kim. Aaron is all for it, but Dave is an easily swayed idiot who quickly falls under Kim's spell, and begins to see the dictator as a wounded man-child rather than someone worth killing.

Should have been better, but I enjoyed it.

I did not expect to like this movie but it was surprisingly well written and acted. Hilarious and an excellent sound track. I count have done without some of the gore though.

Entertaining but controversial, THE INTERVIEW consists of the same silly behaviour we've come to expect from Seth Rogen and James Franco. It's not harsh or eye-opening just because it hit a nerve in North Korea and thus got way more publicity than it deserved. It's the same old, same old, like NEIGHBORS and KNOCKED UP and that kind of thing. Ignore the political brouhaha and THE INTERVIEW is a popcorn flick about dopey unsubstantial antics of an idiot newscaster and his producer. It's even -- gasp! -- somewhat funny at times. So, ignore the fervor, and if you like Rogen or his brand of comedy, you'll probably enjoy it.

Finally sat down to watch it and it was actually very good. I thought it might just be a stupid comedy, but it was a good comedy. Made me laugh pretty well.

okay, the number one reason to watch this movie, the Sony hacking scandal, otherwise, this movie was a waste of an hour, yes my computer thankfully will speed up the movie.

A few funny moment but in general a waste of time. They really did not put a lot into this movie and it shows....

Silly fun kind of comedy. Guilty moronic pleasure.
I can understand why His Majesty was offended, considering his fate in this movie.

Rather vulgar and dumb. If North Korea had not made a big fuss about the movie, I would not have watched it.

Sook: How many times can the U.S. make the same mistake?
Rapaport: As many times as it takes!

Kim: You know what's more destructive than a nuclear bomb?... Words.

-This was a revolution ignited with nothing more than a camera and some questions. Questions that led a man, once revered as a god among mortals, to cry and shit his pants.
-Haters gonna hate, and ain'ters gonna ain't!
- Kim must die, it's the American way.
-This is 2014, women are smart now!
