"The secret to success is to offend the greatest number of people." - George Bernard Shaw

Serial killer culture entered my life in 1980 (grade 8) with the Crimes and Punishment books showcasing the history of global murders worldwide. Moving to Burnaby at the same time, Olsen, Bundy, and some guy in Seattle also became standard news stories du jour. So it was weird to know the backstory of basically every killer profiled. (Newspapers estimated 35 serial killers roaming the USA in 1982).

Borowski puts forth an excellent doc - interviewing musicians, artists, and writers infatuated with the genre, right down to corresponding with inmates and collecting their wares, autographs, killing tools, and even artwork.

You'll learn something you never knew before, and be more street smart because of it. Internet searches on side topics had me finding a Dahmer comic book on eBay, reading up on the Murderpedia website, and coming across a chilling youtube doc called The Killing Of America (1982) uncut.

That's how good this doc is when it sends you off on tangents looking to expand the subject. Funny how Canada could do a doc just like this - serial killer culture is American culture, and it's coming to a Cdn city near you.
