Once you get past the beginning and the bit about the car - which is when I started to lose interest - suddenly there emerges a most remarkable, incredible and blessed life. It can drag a bit, sometimes he dwells on things a bit too long - but it is still a great production.

Occasionally crude, but tremendously funny and poignant. This one man play is essentially a running monologue by Billy Crystal before an audience, telling stories about growing up, his parents, other eccentric relatives, music, life, falling in love, and much more. The deaths of his parents are particularly heartfelt, and if you've read his book, you already know some of it, but to see him speaking about it really is very effective.

I thought this was your usual stand up comedy. It is really a one man performance about his life growing up. Moving and funny. There are some bad words in it. Parents should be aware of this.

I know it's HBO but he uses the F-word...ALOT! and there's no need. It is a GREAT story about his father and his youth, I mean it floored me. Would have never guessed that his family was an intricate part of the jazz puzzle. Without the cuss words this is a 5 star story.
