WARNING - HERE BE SPOILERS

Wow. Even as a children's book, this novel does not censor heavy themes such as loss and sacrifice. The thrilling conclusion to one of my favourite series brings about the deaths of many of my favourite characters - a strong way to set it apart from sugarcoated children's books of pure victory and success. This is why I liked it so much - it teaches that true victory requires sacrifice, and as Tark puts it "sacrifice is trading something good for something better". Wise for its intended audience and beyond enthralling, this book is definitely going to be a constant re-read.

Never have I been so emotionally destroyed by a work of fiction. That said, it's easily my favorite out of the trilogy. The plot and character developments were unexpected and completely kept me guessing. Riveting read; bit of a surprise ending. Wonderful series!

SO SAD!! What has this done to my feelings?! Nah, just kidding. This book is the best of the trilogy, even though there's more death than in the other two books.

Brandon Mull is an amazing writer. The whole book kept me at the edge of my seat. On a scale from 1-10 Chasing the Prophecy would be a 9.5. I finished the first half of the book in a week, since I'm a slow reader, but I finished the second half in two days. I just couldn't stop reading. I recommend this book to people ages 8 and up. To sum up, one of the best fantasies I've ever read.

Violence: Some pretty gritty violence here and there.
