DON'T skip it. Despite some flaws, this is one of Coppola's better latter-day works, vastly superior to the idiotic Youth Without Youth. His hatred for and misunderstanding of women is evident; this comes through time and again in Coppola movies. He views women as destroyers. Even so, this Almodovar-influenced story of radically dissimilar half-brothers has more heart and integrity than most of the junk out there and more artistry, too. Gallo, Ehrenreich, and -- in a small role -- Carmen Maura -- are knockouts. The filming, which interpolates color with black & white, manages to be consistently outstanding.

Don't be put off by the negative comments.
I agree that the first fifteen minutes seem ordinary but the rest of the film is a masterpiece.

A masterpiece!!! The film is visually stunning, the acting is unprecendtly beautiful and the sound selection is unbelievable. The storyline is unlike anything I have ever seen or heard of before.

It is a terrifically made, unusual, and daringly offbeat film. Essential viewing for anyone who cares to be enthralled by cinematically expressive possibilities. The cinematography itself is a wonder, and lo and behold, FFC has coaxed an excellent performance from Vince Gallo!

Technically good, but not interesting story.

Excellent movie! All aspects of this film are so well done that its clear why Coppola is a master film maker. Tetro starts very unassuming and builds in intensity as the characters and story develop. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
Beautiful cinematography.

Skip It – Tetro (2009) 127 min. I can’t believe I’m saying this but stay away from this Francis Ford Coppola flick. The film is most likely intended for those studying film. The strengths and weaknesses in the film come from the fact that Coppola uses symbolism through the lens to describe mood and thought. The story is ordinary, lacklustre and guaranteed to bore unless you’re prepared to see the film for more than it is. The film is for private screening and not for public consumption.
