I've read all the Dragons In Our Midst books and all the oracles of fire books and personally found that I like this book the worst. I just think it is too confusing. However, that being said, I think that it is an amazing work.
I would recommend the dragons in our midst series more, but after this book the oracles of fire become better and better.
My favorite book he has written about these main characters is probably The Bones of Makaidos

The first book in Oracles of Fire, this book explains a lot about Dragons in our Midst and is a fantastic read. Eye of the Oracle tells the stories of Creation, the Fall, the Flood and the Tower of Babel with interesting twists.
