Despite Spike Lee's and the cast of characters on this play's extreme political promotion that actually helped Barack ''OBUMA'' gets selected, not elected in 2008 and 2012,the music and songs on this staged Broadway musical is so good, entertaining, and bone chilling,it made me give it a pass period.Very offensive to me politically indeed, but the thrilling and moving music and songs more than make up for this period. This is a well made production and of course well directed by Spike Lee period.Whether you voted for Barack ''OBUMA'' or not,i still think this is still a must see and must share rental from the library right now period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not a big fan of Broadway, but this performance is an exception. I think it translates well over from the stage to the screen. Spike Lee did a great job. The story follows a young man coming of age as he travels from the US to Europe. It is funny, the music is great and I was pleasantly surprised.

although the cover "reads", musical it's less stage/prop like cinema and more spotlight/scene as in theater w/a live concert show narrating. good. different.
