Devil's Kiss starts out with action as Billi undergoes a trial to initiate her into the modern day remenants of the Knights Templar. She faces constant hardship from her dad, the head of the Knights Templar who raised her to be a warrior. Her bestfriend comes back from his training and Billi is torn between her feelings for him, and a developing attraction to another . There is a lot more action towards the end of the book when Billi must make the ultimate sacrifice to save the world.

"As the daughter of the man who leads the last remnants of the Knights Templar, 15-year-old Billi SanGreal has been raised to fight - and kill - all manner of Unholy beasts. She'd really rather just be a normal teenager, but London needs saving... especially after Billi unwittingly falls for a guy who has the power to unleash an apocalypse. While this often-gruesome novel is closer to true horror fiction than the Mortal Instruments series, both are fast-paced and feature tantalizing romance, high-octane battles, and a lot of intense emotion. And with intriguing religious history and lore woven in, Devil's Kiss stands out from the pack - for more, check out its sequel, Dark Goddess." Next Reads Teen Scene October 2012 Newsletter

There’s nothing to fear but fear itself...
And Billi SanGreal.
Devil’s Kiss is Sarwat Chadda’s first novel. This debut has one of the most thrilling stories I have ever loved. It is filled with mystery, laughter and romance.

Bilqis SanGreal is not an ordinary girl; she’s part of one of the most feared organizations in the world, The Knights Templar. And she is the only female and the youngest of all the Templars and ready to kick butt. They are involved in a secret war against the Unholy, and that includes ghosts, devils, blood-drinkers, corpse-eaters, mortals that have hearts of a beast and the Grigori, the dark angels. But she doesn’t like being a Templar. Every time she goes to school, she’s bruised or cut or hurt badly, and everyone doesn’t like her. Her father is the master of all the Templars and her mother was murdered.

Her whole world changes when her childhood friend, Kay returns from Jerusalem. But he’s not just a Templar, he’s an Oracle, a psychic. And he’s ready to fit back into her life. But she has met someone else as well, Mike. He understands her more than anyone else has.

However, Billi does not have time to sit back and relax because incredibly old enemies of the order have appeared and are searching for a treasure of immense power unimaginable: King Solomon’s Cursed Mirror. And she must put her heart aside and sacrifice everything or millions of people will die.

Billi endures a painful burden as the story enfolds. She learns that sacrifices must be made for the greater good. She’s strong, funny, and full of emotion. The characters are very well described and all have different personalities.

This debut takes place in London and filled with fascinating yet disturbing creatures that make you utterly shocked. Devil’s Kiss is the start of series you’ll be dying to continue. The next novel, The Dark Goddess will be released by the end of 2010.

I highly enjoyed this novel. It really was moving and I couldn't put it down. I was up until 2 in the morning finishing it. There are a lot of controversial ideas and themes that were covered. i would recommend it to anyone.
