A cute story about two teens who switch places. One is from New York and one lives in an Amish community.

This was a cute story. Geared toward teenagers. Kind of fluffy, but nothing wrong with it.

I decided to read this book just because it was available from the NC Digital Library. This is a very far-fetched plot, but it's still a fun, quick read. An Amish teenager and a New Yorker decide to secretly switch places for a week. Madison and Anna both have a hard time adjusting to their new surroundings, but ultimately find friendship. They both grow to be grateful for the things they have, and the friends and family in their lives.

An Amish girl and a rich New Yorker, both yearning for change and variety from their ordinary lives, meet up and switch places for a week. Hijinks ensue. I picked this up not realizing it was Christian fiction. Unlike many books on the inspirational market, the spiritual references aren’t too forced, nor do they yank the story around in awkward ways. That said, although the book is engagingly written and has some flashes of great storytelling, it falls flat. This is less to do with its genre and more with the fact that the unlikely premise, while a great idea, requires extremely strong writing to stay in the realm of believability.
