I love Nick. I thought he was so cute with Zara but now that we really get to see Astley's character develop, he's starting to grow on me. After reading another series I have a new found respect for how Carrie Jones took the time in this book to show us Astley's personality and some of his past.

Another good read for the Need series. I liked the whole development and strangeness of Zara and Astley's relationship. Honestly, this book just made me love Astley, maybe more than Nick. Plus, I thought that having the police reports and updates above the beginning of each chapter was really cool. I still kind of miss the phobias that book one had, but showing the view of the citizens of Bedford was pretty interesting. It helped reveal the gravity of the situation at hand. With this book, however, it seemed that it only revolved around getting Nick back, and not anything else. There wasn't more development in the story that wasn't revealed in the book blurb. Also, it felt like it was rushed, that some of the things that really interested me weren't given much thought or detail at all. Like, the whole Thor and Odin encounter. I really wanted to know more about them, yet even though they are extremely powerful, they were simply minor, side characters. Not much was given on them.
SO: I believe that this book deserves 4 stars

This book made me so tight!!!! okay, i love zara, i grew on Nick in the FIRST book BUT IT GETS ANNOYING. this whole books shes trying to get Nick back from the heavens or something while people are being killed because of her love for him. Nick is not all that anymore, Astly is my fav. he is more... of a gentlemen, they r different. but you will get upset a few times, but its worth to finish if you in the series. its worth a read though, good too. im going to get the last book. send me a message or add me as a friend to debate whos better. Nick or Astly. one thing i like about this book is its more deaths so its more realistic, and Zara is the best of queens.

This series is so good. I love how it's about pixies. I'm starting to like Astley better than Nick. Awesome book! I can't wait until the next one.

This is the coolest series in a LONG time. I mean Twilight wasn't all that great. And now, everyone's on a vampire or a zombie streak. Pixies?!? So freakin' cool! Seriously great series. And Astley is cooler than Nick! lol

“I am not a good fighter," I try to explain again, fingering the edge of my shirt. "I mean, I am really bad at fighting, not as bad as my friend Issie, who is possibly the least fightery person in the world. I mean, I'm getting better, but still... I mean-- oh I'm sorry. I'm babbling.”
