A coming of age film. Not too impressive. Two stars would be too much.

Girls, moral of this story is that you can't depend on men so make sure you get an education. This is especially true in this age of the high divorce rate. Perfect title for this movie.

I didn't really know much about this movie so it was nice to watch it without any real expectations. That being said, it took me a very long time to get through the entire thing. I think I started it over about ten times (no exaggeration!)…

One of my favorite films. Classic story of young girl taken in by a needy older man. Have to say the MUSIC in this is great. Good acting by all. Be sure to watch the special features.

There are no shortcuts to happiness and in director Lone Scherfig’s disarmingly breezy coming-of-age story one adolescent girl’s first brush with romance will cost her more than she had bargained. Everyone remembers their first big crush…

Took a bit to get me in, but I did watch to the end. Glad they included the smoking warning along with the PG warning before the film - those Brits do seem to continue to love their tobacco!

I enjoyed the first half of this movie and then once you find out who David really is and how it doesn’t bother Jenny made me dislike this movie. Also the ending is so weak, she gets to taste the good life and go to Oxford too??? Come…

This period piece has good acting and cinematography, but the tale of a young woman seduced by an older man is nothing new. I just wasn’t that interested.

Wonderful movie which I saw some time ago.....and where I took note of Rosamond Pike who is now a lead in Gone Girl.

I liked this movie. This would be the second time I watched it, as the first time I caught it on tv but didn't know the name. It's amazing how we can only see what we want to sometimes.

I love Carey Mulligan! She really lifts this movie up out of a fairly mundane plot. All the performances are wonderful and the ending completely satisfies. It also offers a glimpse into early feminism as this bright talented young woman…

On a whim I watched this & loved it. It was funny, smart, cool, & real. Another great performance from Carey Mulligan.

What if the teenager had been a boy instead of a girl. Would you still applaud this film?

Very good story with great acting (although Alfred was a little over the top). An excellent viewing for teens in High School.

Coming of age story set in 1960's England. Alfred Molina gives another superb performance as the dominant yet loving father who is at odds with his bright teenage daughter. Young Carey Mulligan does a fine job blossoming from naive…
